Around 9:35 am on May 8, the highly anticipated Shunde Bridge in Foshan officially opened to traffic after five years of construction.

It cost 2.5 billion yuan to build the bridge. Its length is 2,455.14 meters with a main span of 626 meters, and it is currently one of the longest steel-concrete composite cable-stayed bridges in the world.

As a crucial livelihood project for enhancing internal connectivity within Shunde, Shunde Bridge will significantly strengthen the traffic links between Daliang and Ronggui. This will not only ease congestion on Rongqi Bridge and Desheng Bridge but also streamline traffic flow in the district's central urban area.

Meanwhile, the bridge is expected to facilitate Shunde's integration into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's "one-hour traffic circle".
